It was Minted to celebrate the opening of the then new (and now old) Parliament house in Canberra. It is also often called a Canberra florin. <img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-100 alignleft" style="line-height: 24px;" alt="1927 Parliament House Florin Obverse – Toned" src="http://wiki.australian-coins.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/pcgs-ms65-australia-1927-parliament-florin-gem-uncirculated1-150×150.jpg" width="150" height="150" /> <img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-99 alignleft" alt="1927 Parliament House Florin Reverse – Toned" src="http://wiki.australian-coins.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/pcgs-ms65-australia-1927-parliament-florin-gem-uncirculated-150×150.jpg" width="150" height="150" /> With a mintage figure of 2 million a large majority of these were hoarded it is quite easy to get these in quite nice grades at a reasonable cost. <span style="line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;">Parliament florins are regularly available with exceptionally attractive toning unlike most other Australian florins. Fans of toned coins should wait for an attractive toned coin that suits their tastes rather than settling on a blast white coin. </span>This 11.31 gram Sterling Silver coin is a quite popular coin enjoyed not only by Australian collectors but is appreciated by collectors Worldwide. |
